You’ll enjoy cool mountain breezes in Bolzano, our home base in the Dolomite Alps. There’s something for everyone, from über shopping and fine dining in the cosmopolitan town center, to ancient castles, and cable car rides into the high Alps. A scenic railway along the upper plateau will take you to picturesque Alpine villages and the Piramidi di Terra, one of Europe’s great natural earth formations.
Recently, Bolzano has become renowned as the home of “Ötsi,” the legendary “Iceman,” whose 1991 discovery in a receding glacier became an international sensation. You can meet him up close in his refrigerated apartment in Bolzano’s Archeological Museum, just one of the many discoveries awaiting you on this very special Arts Sojourn.
Of course, you’ll find spectacular pleinair painting opportunities everywhere in Bolzano, even in our hotel’s private gardens in the midst of the old city! This elegant four-star establishment is without peer, immersed in its own tranquil park, and features a heated pool, hip outdoor bar, and highly regarded restaurant. You’ll be blown away by the sumptuous breakfast buffet and other amenities that will help make your stay in Bolzano so memorable.
Enrollment is limited on this Sojourn, so if you’re up for some spaghetti with your schnitzel, let us know and we’ll book you a spot!

Important Trip Info
June 2 (June 1 US departure) – June 9, 2019
Travel Coordination and Orientation
Detailed travel instructions will be sent to each participant to ensure arrival and departure times that coordinate with our charter transportation connection. Applicants are responsible for securing their own transportation to and from their home and Marco Polo Airport in Venice, Italy. No refunds are given for missed connections.
US departure should be on June 1 for next day arrival in Italy. Most airline tickets are non-refundable once issued, so it is essential that each applicant wait until they have received their confirmation and instructions before booking flights.
When we receive your application and deposit we will send a complete pre-trip orientation package to help you prepare. Our Sojourn will begin with an in-country orientation session as well.
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to guard against a possible loss in case of cancellation or withdrawal from the trip for some unforeseen reason. Please see our cancellation policy below.
Our hotel is a top-level four-star establishment with full modern conveniences including air conditioning, TV, and private baths with hairdryers. There is a pool and gym for guest use.
