On this extended Arts Sojourn you’ll experience two completely different Italian landscapes and cultures. At the same time you’ll save a thousand bucks off the regular price by combining our two Sojourns into one discounted package!
Everyone knows Venice, La Serenissima, “the most serene” city of a thousand canals. There’s no place like it in Italy; no place like it in the entire world. But we’ll show you some of the less visited places – the outer island of Mazzorbo, for example, and you won’t be rushed about at a breakneck pace. You’ll have time to savor the neighborhood bacari – the cicchetti bars frequented by locals and spend a couple of days at the fabulous Art Biennale. Every evening you’ll join your creative traveling companions for drinks and a lively discussion at our group show and tell meetings.
But wait, there’s more. You’ll wave goodbye to Venice when a private water taxi ferries you across the lagoon to meet our charter coach. In two and a half hours you’ll be in Bolzano, the gateway to the Dolomite Alps, a very different Italy of brown bread and strudel, with German spoken right alongside Italian. The alpine scenery is breathtaking with painting and hiking opportunities everywhere. This promises to be the most unique trip we have offered in our twenty years of Arts Sojourn travel!
As always, when you travel with us you’ll be treated to four-star accommodations, great food, impeccable planning, and a creative group of slow-travelers you won’t soon forget. For more details please read the descriptions of each Arts Sojourn.
Important Trip Info
May 26 (May 25 US departure) – June 9, 2018
Travel Coordination and Orientation
Detailed travel instructions will be sent to each participant to ensure they arrive and depart at times that coordinate with our charter transportation. Applicants are responsible for securing their own transportation to and from their home and Marco Polo Airport in Venice, Italy (VCE). No refunds are given for missed connections.
US departure should be on May 25 for next day arrival in Italy. Most airline tickets are non-refundable once issued, so it is essential to wait until you have received your confirmation and travel instructions from us before booking flights.
When we receive your application and deposit we will send a complete pre-trip orientation package to help you prepare. Our Sojourn will begin with an in-country orientation session as well.
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to guard against a possible loss in case of cancellation or withdrawal from the trip for some unforeseen reason. Please see our cancellation policy below.
Our hotels are top-level four-star establishments with full modern conveniences, including air conditioning, TV, WiFi and private baths with hair dryers. Complete information and links to the hotel websites will be sent to all applicants.
